Saddle Assessments

Would you put up with shoes that do not fit and cause pain? Horses with ill-fitting saddles often have no choice, and they may communicate this discomfort by bucking, biting, kicking, rearing or through other more subtle mood changes.

In serious cases an ill-fitting saddle can shear off the soft cartilage at the top of the scapula, or cause important back muscles to atrophy.

Wurlod Animal Therapies can check your current saddle against the shape of your horse’s back and shoulders, using an in depth knowledge of anatomy.

All horse's backs naturally change shape with age and so can elements of the saddle, so it is important to keep up to date with how your horse's current saddle fits. This should be carried out approximately every 6 months.
